Brown Sprinkler has been a subcontractor for Abel Construction Company for over 30 years. We have built, what I consider, a lasting "Team Relationship".

Abel has contracted Brown for numerous very complex and short time line projects with great success. We have completed work within various plants within, but not limited to the state of Kentucky. We have been very fortunate to have had such a competent and reliable contractor as Brown Sprinkler. Our philosophy here at Abel Construction is without excellent subcontractors, our jobs would not be a success, i.e. you are only as good as your subcontractor. Mike Widener President

Mike has been with Brown Sprinkler for over 40 years working in many aspects of the business from managing the shop, purchasing, and overseeing the day to day operations of the business.

 

Debbie Widener VP of Finance

Debbie has 31 years with Brown Sprinkler and is responsible for all finance/accounting functions, insurance, banking, and administrative functions.

Ryan O'Hara VP of Sales

Ryan has over 20 years of experience with Brown Sprinkler and 25 years in the fire protection industry. Primary responsibilities are contract sales and project management. Ryan has a strong background in industrial and automotive construction and holds a NICET Level III Certification in Water Based Systems Layout.

Mike Bogard Estimator

Mike has 30 years of experience in the fire protection industry. Mike holds NICET Level III in water-based systems layout. Primary responsibilities are sales, estimating, and project management.

Education - University of Louisville/Sullivan University

 

Josh Coale Estimator

Josh has 19 years of experience in the fire protection industry. His primary responsibilities are sales, estimating, and project management. Experience includes 11 years of Field installation to include winning the 2009 International apprenticeship contest and 9 years’ experience in sales, estimating, and project management.

Matt Poole Division Manager

Matt has over 25 years of experience with Brown Sprinkler. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Protection and Safety Engineering from Eastern Kentucky University. Matt started with Brown as a designer and worked his way up to sales and project management. In 2018, He transitioned to the Division Manager roll in our Lexington Branch and is now in charge of the day-to-day operations as well as still estimating and managing new projects. He holds a Nicet Level IV certification in Water–Based System Layout. Matt has been involved many types of fire sprinkler system installations from automotive manufacturing facilities, UHSD explosion suppression systems at a local military base, and the usual industrial/commercial/retail installations.

David MurphyEstimator/Project Manager

Josh Cochran Division Manager

Josh has 13 years of experience in the fire protection industry with Brown Sprinkler. Josh started as an apprentice in the field and then worked his way to design. He has 7 years’ experience in design and project management and took on the leadership role of Division Manager in June of 2023. Our goal in the Indianapolis office is to uphold the integrity of Brown Sprinkler that began more than 65 years ago and continue to serve our customers with a high level of quality and workmanship.

 

Scott Schiesser Sales/Estimating

Scott has 32 years in the fire sprinkler industry. He is NICET level 3 certified in Water Based Systems Layout. He has experience in a vast array of fire protection systems including multi-family, storage/warehouse, manufacturing, airport, and heavy industrial. He is committed to the fire protection industry through his active involvement with the National Fire Sprinkler Association (NFSA). He always strives to ensure the customer is getting the best product for their property.
